Beeswax

Beeswax – Cera alba is produced by worker bees. The bees mould the wax to structure the hive and give the hive the perfect hexagonal shape. The hexagonal cells are filled with honey and then covered with more wax. When harvesting (tapping) the honey, the top layer of wax covering the cells must be removed. This unprocessed beeswax, which may contain some honey and propolis, is light yellow to brown in colour and retains the sweet smell of honey. Beeswax acts as a wonderful, lightweight, natural barrier to the skin that prevents moisture loss and helps retain moisturizing oils and butters without clogging pores.

In hair care, beeswax adds moisture to the hair, moisturizing it deeply and giving softness, shine and gloss to dull and damaged hair.
