Shea Nut Butter is derived from the African tree Butyrospermum parkii. Shea butter has been shown to speed up the process of wound healing and improve the appearance of scars. It is used to soothe burns, rashes, severe cases of dry skin and to reduce the irritation of eczema and psoriasis. It has the ability to penetrate deep into the skin, thus moisturizing and nourishing it deeply, making it excellent for dry, damaged and mature skin. Shea butter contains non-saponifiable fats, which are not converted into soap during the chemical reaction of saponification and thus provide the soap with wonderful moisturizing properties.
In hair care, shea butter provides deep nourishment to the hair shaft and moisturizes dry, dull hair resulting in improved appearance and shine. It is particularly beneficial for damaged hair and also seems to help promote new hair growth.
We use only virgin, raw, organic shea butter. Raw shea butter has not been bleached or deodorised and retains its natural flavour, colour and nutritional benefits.
